About the breed

The TEMPERAMENT OF MALINOIS

The Belgian Malinois is intelligent and trainable, possesses a strong desire to work and is happiest with regular activity and a job to do. This confident breed loves their families, but may be somewhat reserved with strangers. They are naturally protective of their owners without being overly aggressive. Extensive socialization should begin at an early age. Firm (not harsh) training is necessary. This working breed has a lot of energy and is commonly used as police and guard dogs. Persons who enjoy the ring sport of Schutzhund often have found that the Belgian Malinois can be a top performer in this area and in the area of Obedience competitions.

Although it was primarily an outdoor dog, it also can adapt well to a flat, if you are able to walk it regularly.

Most of Malinois like swimming, retrieving and running next to the bicycle, they all like playing, especially with a ball.

Malinois generally go on well with children. Some of them are dominant towards other dogs.

The LOOK OF MALINOIS

The Belgian Malinois is a medium sized dog of moderate build with a square shaped body(contrary of the German Shepherd). The face has a black mask and the color of the coat can range from shades of gray to red to black and tan, typically of a double pigment (where each lighter colored hair has a black tip). A relatively easy keepers due to their medium size and short coat.
